Municipal city of Jogjakarta grew to be a city that enriched by traditional Javanese art and culture,udwith the growth of urban dwelling the city of Jogjakarta are showing an exponential growth and urbanuddevelopment. An green open space is one effort which the municipal government are able to performudto address this pressing issue with that in mind, the author are keen to conduct a law inquiry, entitledudProvision of public green open space in the municipal city of Jogjakarta,based on Jogjakartaudmunicipal code number 2/20, spatial plans of Jogjakarta. On this law inquiry, the author observed theudeffort by the municipal government on providing green open space for the public, based on PeraturanudDaerah Kota Yogyakarta Nomor 2 Tahun 2010 with all impediments, hindrances and difficulties thatudbeing confronted on the field. This law inquiry are using empirical research method, which rely onudprimer source as main source alongside secondary data. Data gathering were done by field study andudliterary references. meanwhile, for analyzing the results the author were using qualitative analyticaludmethod which comparing the data from the field study with secondary and primer law material. on theudfoundation of the author research and analysis, therefore the result are based on The Law number 26udof 2007 on section 29, public green open space on the municipal area was set on minimum 30% of theudmunicipal land area (20% municipal government and 10% from private individual). On the 2010-2029udurban planning regulations, which being addressed by Peraturan Daerah Kota Yogyakarta Nomor 2udTahun 2010, The municipal government are planning to allocated 20% of public green open spaceudfrom the municipal area. In reality only 17.16% are being allocated as public green open space. Oneudmajor hurdle to achieved this goals were the limited number of available plots to build an publicudgreen open space, therefore it made the price for it are skyrocketing.
