PERILAKU NASABAH ATAS BUNGA KARTU KREDIT: STUDI BEHAVIORAL FINANCE PENGGUNA KARTU KREDIT

This research aims to observe the behaviour of the credit card holders towards the interest rate of credit cards in Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Bandung and Jakarta. The study on the behaviour of the credit card holders is shown in the frequency of credit card usage in consumptive pattern. Other than credit card interest rate, factors influencing the frequency of credit card usage include credit card holders' prestigious life-style and the level of customers' anxiety of credit card crime risks. This research adopted the study instrument of Calem and Mester in the Federal Reserve of Philadelphia and AT&T Universal Card Service by udBrobeck. The two studies adopted the Behavioral Finance Theory. The data were elicited through questionnaires and interviews. There were 123 respondents consisting of 83 employees and 40 businessmen. The factors influencing the frequency of credit card usage were analyzed using reliability, validity and regression formula. The result revealed that the frequency of the credit card interest rate and prestigious life style were influential factors while the level of customers' anxiety of credit card crime risks was not influential. The final result showed that there was a behavioral finance in credit card holders. This described why the credit card phenomenon still occurred in Indonesia. ud
