PT PERTAMINA (PERSERO) Lubricating Unit of Cilacapudproduces almost the PERTAMINA’s lubricant. The productsudcover the requirement of customer need from automotiveudand industrial. The main process is filling lubriatingudoil to the bottle and it process is in Lithos Department.udBy the observation the writer identify the defects, theyudare test induction sealer, no aluminum foil, un stickyudaluminum foil, damaged cap, bottle & cap not equal,udoblique cap, broken bridge cap, and empty bottle & microudhole. Because of product competitions, the defects becomeudthe company concern.udThis research use Seven-Step Method based to reduceudthe defects. The improvement suggestion covers man,udmaterial, inventory, and material inspection.udBy the end of research, the most significant defectudproduct of lubricant in PT PERTAMINA (PERSERO)udLubricating Unit of Cilacap is no aluminum foiludnonconformity and oblique cap nonconformity. The sourcesudor factors that cause the defect are materials and man.udThe implementation conducted in August, 2009 and theudresult is decreasing the nonconformities of defectudproduct.
