摘要

The research is an attempt to describe how the process of English language teaching and learning is going on in SMAN 1 Minggir.udThe research study is classified into descriptive research. The participants of this study were the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Minggir. The key instruments used in this research are observations sheet, questionnaires sheet, interview transcript. The data were collected through observations, questionnaires, in-depth interviews. There were three stages in the process of English teaching and learning process which are discussed in this research report. The first stage is the teaching preparation. The next stage is the classroom teaching and learning process. The last stage is the learning evaluation.udBased on the observation, in the stage of teaching preparation, the teacher prepared the lesson plan based on the curriculum. The teacher use task-book Tuntas as one of learning sources in the classroom. Then, in the stage of teaching and learning process, the teacher used power point as a media in delivering the materials. On the one hand, the lessons seemed monotonous because of lack of interactive media. In the evaluation, the evaluation process is done well by the teacher. The results of students’s learning evaluation are satisfying. It means that the learning materials were successfully delivered and the teaching-learning process was appropriated with the lesson plan.Therefor, it can be simply said that the process of English teaching and learning in the tenth grade of senior high school students at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir is succeed.
