Acoustical array with constant beamwidth over a wide frequency range. Application to broadband signal detection and power estimation

This paper examines the detection and power estimation of signais reaching a directive broadband constant beamwidth acousticaludarray . The effectiveness of the technique is demonstrated by comparison with four alternative- approaches : the conventional endfireudarray, and spectral estimators such as the maximum likelood (or Capon), the maximum-entropy and Lagunas-Hernandezudmethods .
