Overview: This briefing paper provides an overview of wholesale and retail electricity prices in New South Wales and more broadly in the National Electricity Market. The specific causes of electricity price movements over recent years are discussed, as are consumption and supply forecasts.This is the first of a series of companion briefing papers related to gas, water and renewable energy sources.
