摘要

A procedure is presented for the spectrophotometric determination of smallamounts of bismuth (III) after extraction with molten naphthalene. Bismuth (III)forms a stable yellow complex with oxine and this complex is quantitativelyextracted into naphthalene at temperature above 81℃ in the pH range morethan 6.0. The solidified mixture of bismuth oxinate and naphthalene is dissolvedin dimethylformamide to determine the amount of bismuth spectrophotometrieally.The extracted complex is very stable in both molten naphthaleneand naphthalene-dimethylformamide solution. The Beer's law is obeyed overthe range of 10-300μg of bismuth (III) in 10 mℓ of dimethylformamide. Theother factors such as pH, arnount of oxine, naphthalene and various diversesalts are studied.
