A method of evaluating the mean-square response of time-variant and timeinvariantstructural systems subjected to earthquake disturbance is presented,by making use of the input-output relations on the base of quasi-stationary andlocally statlOnary stochast1c process. Numerical results are given for thestructural response of one mass system with respect to two kinds of the actualearthquake accelerograms. It is shown that the application of quasi-stationaryprocess to earthquake disturbance reveals c10se agreement with the result bydynamic response analysis, but that locally stationary process contains thesignificant error on the estimation resu1t in the neighbourhood of the timedomain t=0.
