摘要

A new method is described for the spectrophotometric determination of smallamounts of iron (III)and vanadium (V) after extraction of their BPA complexeswith molten naphthalene. Iron (III) and vanadium (V) react with N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine to form water-insoluble reddish brown and purp1ish redprecipitates, respectively, which are easi1y extracted into mo1ten naphhtalene.After extraction,the very fine so1idified naphthalene crystals is dissolved indimethylformamide and the absorbance of the resu1tant solution measuredagainst a reagent blank,and small amounts of iron (III)and vanadium (V) aredetermined under the optimum conditions. The other factors such as pH,amountsof reagent and naphthalene,stabi1ity are investigated,and the molar absorptivity,sensitivity and coefficient of variation evaluated.
