Estudio de alternativas viales para la intersección de la Avenida Bolivar con Calle Segunda en la ciudad de Armenia

El objetivo de este trabajo es mejorar la situación actual del tránsito que se presenta en la intersección de la Avenida Bolívar con la Calle Segunda en la ciudad de Armenia, para lo cual se realizó un estudio que abarcó desde la toma de información básica del estado actual de la intersección (volúmenes vehiculares, datos históricos del tránsito, levantamiento de la intersección) hasta la evaluación económica, ambiental y multivariable de las alternativas preseleccionadas, usando para ello gran parte de la metodología propuesta en las bibliografías del Ingeniero Germán Arboleda Vélez, junto a aportes conceptuales del Ingeniero John Jairo Posada.udEntre las alternativas estudiadas se tienen dejar la intersección tal como se encuentra, mejorar el sistema semafórico actual, construir una glorieta, deprimir la Calle Segunda solamente y por último bajarle el nivel a la Avenida Bolívar y al mismo tiempo deprimir la Calle Segunda. Con los criterios citados anteriormente se evaluaron las alternativas y se seleccionó definitivamente deprimir la Calle Segunda solamente, por presentar en conjunto los mejores resultados en los temas evaluados.udCon este trabajo, se considera queda una herramienta de consulta que podrá ser de mucha utilidad para una futura toma de decisiones por parte de las autoridades locales / Abstract: The goal of this work is to improve the present traffic situation that is being taking place at the intersection between Bolivar Avenue and 2nd street in the city of Armenia. To do this, a study was carried out. Said study covered a basic collection of information about the current situation of the intersection (vehicle volume, historical traffic data, survey of the intersection,) the economic and environmental evaluation and the multiple variety of pre-chosen alternatives, using a great part of the proposed methodology in the bibliography of Engineer Germán Arboleda-Vélez, along with conceptual contributions from Engineer John Jairo Posada.udAmong the alternatives studied, one is to leave the intersection as it is now, another one to improve the existent traffic light system, another is to construct a round point, another is to compress only 2nd street and the other one is to lower the level of Bolivar Avenue and at the same time, to compress 2nd street. Based on the criteria above mentioned, the alternatives were evaluated and the option of compressing only 2nd street was chosen because it showed a joint of better results in the topics evaluated.udWith this work, we consider that each consultation tool will be of great help for a future decision making of the local authorities.
