La evolución de los vehículos desde el siglo pasado ha generado la necesidad en losudconductores de adaptarse y adquirir un cierto nivel de conocimiento y habilidades conudcada avance tecnológico para poder conducir un vehículo; desde su simple encendidoudhasta su navegación y la variedad de opciones de confort y equipamiento que ofrece laudúltima tecnología.udDe otro lado nace la necesidad de promover la movilidad mediante una serie deudconocimientos, capacidades y habilidades mínimas que faciliten la adaptación de losudconductores a las condiciones del tránsito normal y cotidiano del medio donde circula, loudcual implica que la conducción segura exija buenos conocimientos, habilidades yudpercepción del riesgo, dichas aptitudes pueden adquirirse mediante la experiencia y unudnivel de entrenamiento adecuado, que hará definir a conductores idóneos en laudconducción de un vehículo.udBasados en seguimientos efectuados por el Ministerio de Transporte en cuanto audestadísticas de accidentalidad1, se pueden identificar las diferentes causas atribuibles aludaccidente, en las cuales influye directamente el factor humano, donde el conductorudrepresenta el principal causante del accidente, dado que sus actuaciones no son acordesudal seguimiento y respeto de la señales de tránsito, tal como lo demuestran las últimasudestadísticas registradas.udEn este sentido los centros de enseñanza automovilística, así como los instructores deudlos mismos, son susceptibles de evaluación y certificación mediante la aplicación de unudmodelo de gestión de calidad como herramienta para medir y evaluar su desempeño, loudcual permitirá establecer indicadores de seguridad, calidad y mejoramiento continuo del servicio prestado con el fin de contribuir en la reducción de la accidentalidad yudmorbimortalidad de las personas por esta causa, la cual representa la segunda causa deudmuertes en Colombia. / Abstract. The evolution of vehicles since past century has created the need for drivers to adapt toudand acquire a certain level of knowledge and skills with each technological advance foruddriving a vehicle, from its simple navigation and on until the variety of options comfortudwhich offers the latest technology.udOn the other hand, comes the need to promote mobility through a range of knowledge,udskills and minimal abilities which facilitate drivers adaptation to traffic normal and dailyudconditions, into the environment where it circulates, which implies that driving safetyudrequires good knowledge, skills and risk perception whose skills can be acquired throughudexperience and proper training level, which will define the suitable drivers in order to driveuda vehicle.udBased on monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Transport regarding accident statistics,udcan be identified different causes attributable to the accident, which directly affects theudhuman factor, where the driver is the accident main cause because of their actions whichudare not consistent monitoring and respect for traffic signals, as evidenced by the latestudstatistics recorded.udIn this sense, the automotive schools and instructors are subject to evaluation andudcertification by implementing a quality management model as a tool to manage andudevaluate their performance, which will establish safety indicators, quality and continuousudimprovement of the service, to help in reducing the accident rate and morbidity of peopleudfor this cause, which represents the second cause of death in Colombia.
