In this study, the nature of knowledge management (KM) practices inudKayseri Police Department was tried to be assessed by using survey method. In thisudregard, employee opinions regarding various KM practices were asked. Accordingudto findings, although there exist some sort of KM practices inside the organizationudregarding knowledge culture, management support to KM practices, knowledgeudsharing incentives and knowledge sharing, it was understood that KM practices forudhomeland security shareholders were not at a sufficient level. It was concluded thatudin order for success in homeland security management, by including homeland security shareholders inside the KM practices, a well-functioning knowledgeudmanagement system have to be developed.udBesides, in this study, positive and significant high level correlations wereuddetected among KM culture, knowledge sharing incentives and knowledge sharing.udThese results were consistent with academic literature arguing that in order forudeffective knowledge sharing in an organization, KM culture and incentives forudknowledge sharing have to be developed.
