We will introduce why "Seikan" train ferry YOUTEI MARU came to Niihama. Harmless recycling of retired ship has attractedattention all over the world. The ship dismantlement was completed on April 5, 2013 after opening to the public in Niihama. Weobserved marine growth such as seaweed and shellfish on the hull plates of the ship. Several marine growths were observed on thebottom hull plate and under ship's draft. The amount of the seaweed on the bottom was more than that of draft section. The traces that shellfishs were taken in as fish food were observed.
