摘要

Based on the generalised sidelobe canceller (GSC), in this paper we propose a novel broadband adaptive beamformer, where the quiescent vector and blocking matrix are replaced by a series of two-dimensional frequency invariant filters (FIFs). A beam pointing towards the signal of interest takes the role of the quiescent vector, whereas the blocking matrix is formed by a number of beams covering the remaining space, with a zero response towards the signal of interest. As opposed to standard beamspace techniques, the FIFs are felxible in their numkber and are not required to posses a very low sidelobe level. Compared with a standard GSC, a faster convergence speed and lower computational complexity for the adaptive part can be achieved due to a shorter adaptive filter length.
