This article targets as its audience pro se patrons'-individuals who cannot afford counsel and need to conduct their own legal research. The typical pro se patron cannot afford to conduct research in the same online databases used by many attorneys. Thus, this article limits its scope to research of book materials available on law library shelves, offering equal access to pro se patrons and lawyers alike.
