In the following text we intend to make a joint reflection on thepossibilities of music and musical practice to build spaces forpositive peace and coexistence. This is based on the conviction thatmusical language can become a powerful communicative elementand that musical communication can help to unite people, but alsoto divide them. Education is recognized as the main engine toguide our actions toward the use of musical practices that impactthe improvement and welfare of individuals and people.To this end, we wish to mention and recognize some projects that,by making use of the music and its learning, have been importantinstruments of social transformation towards more peacefulcommunities. The safeguarding of these initiatives and the designof new creative projects that make music a tool for buildingpeace is one of the biggest challenges which musicians and musiceducators must face today.
