The ceramic tile industry increasinglycommits to modernisationand implementation ofnew technologies in the decorationprocess. Current demands ofadvanced processes in this fi eld,such as rotational decoration,inkjet printing, PVD (physical vapourdeposition), laser systems,etc., led to a great interest in developingceramic pigments withcontrolled composition and microstructure.These pigments arethermally and mechanically stablein the production cycles, havereproducible and multifunctionalproperties, and meet ecologicaland economic demands. Theresearch work in this fi eld madethe ceramic sector dynamic andcompetitive with regard to openingnew markets.
