The present text justifies an inclusive position of music inside culture from an interdisciplinary approach, and focuses onthe context as a musical space of identity and alterity in which it offers the question "who is the other, its place and itsmusic, the anonymous and collective locations of the contemporary human being, the music in everyday life and fashion,among others". In the same way it shows how music speaks to the others by means of the sound image of the world andthe readings of diversity that these provide, and at the same time it directs the reader to the ambivalence of the term"diversity" in Musical Education and its reading methods. The central axis of the text is to show a critical position,compromised and contextualised, of musical expression in the contemporary culture and in the school as an institution.
