Microelectronics for the 21st Century : Towards the Realization of Quantum Effect Devices

Semiconductor integrated circuits are on a path towards reducing in size. One of the possible goals of this process towards continuing reductions in size may lead to the realization of a completely new functional device utilizing the wave properties of electrons. This realization is believed to open the door to the virtual "paradise" of quantum effect devices never imagined before. This report provides a discussion of these quantum effect devices.
