Traffic Light: An Alternative Approach to Abnormality Signalling

'Red dot' is the most common form of abnormality detec�on system in clinicaludprac�ce. The SCoR 2013 policy recommends replacement with preliminary clinicaludevalua�on (PCE) however this requires a different skill set and radiographersudare arguably not yet ready for this change. Wright (2013) iden�fied the need toudbe able to make accurate decisions before processing to wri�ng commentary.udThe 'traffic light' system poten�ally bridges this gap as it requires radiographersudto make a decision on all the images they take. The op�on to provide a preliminaryudclinical evalua�on (PCE) is an addi�on feature which again scaffolds the radiographersudtowards the wider goal.
