Finite element automatic mesh generation for three-dimensional electromagnetic field computation

摘要

This paper investigates an automatic mesh generator based on the Delaunay triangulation and the Octree method for three-dimensional electromagnetic field problems. It is found that a thin tetrahedron and the computer round-off error which is created during the mesh generation process lead to a difficulty so-called degenerate cases. To avoid degenerate case, we introduce an algorithm into mesh generation process. Using this algorithm into the mesh generation process, it is possible to obtain a mesh without degenerate case. A model of a thin film magnetic recording head is divided into finite element mesh and analyzed. The obtained result shows the validity of our algorithm.
