This essay clarified the meaning of Peeping the landscape of Japan through the lens. In the 18th century, the Oriental painters who watched Western pictures did not recognize it as the valuable picture. They judged it to be the work of a simple engineer. They said it that it was not art. Because, they thought that the ideal of the painter should be drawn in the picture. The painters who learnt the method of the Western art and had drawn perspective views in Japan were people of a different school. They drew pictures to look in viewing machine. And those pictures were the amusementsof the people. The big revolution on the history of the Japanese picture(Realism was authorized)was caused by the curiosity of the people who peeping a picture from the lens.
