On Beatrice Potter Webb's On the Nature of Economic Science : Its Introduction and Translation

Beatrice Potter Webb wrote a note On the Nature of Economic Science , in Appendix of MY APPRENTICESHIP, that is Part I of her autobiography and published in 1926. She had condensed and integrated to the note from two previous economic articles, one written in 1886, named latterly The History of English Economics, and another written in 1887, named latterly Economic Theory of Karl Marx. According to On the Nature of Economic Science she assumed to extend her research to not only Market Economy but to Welfare Economy and other Economies of Society, and criticized the classical political economy and Marxian economics as not being realistic by the historical method which has been originated from the sociological and institutional way in her two previous economic articles.
