Classification of Women's Body Shapes(Part1) : The Characteristic of Upper Body Shapes

摘要

We classified the shapes of women's upper bodies by cluster analysis. There were 3 separate groups of subjects each consisting of 100 women. the first group consisted of young women (18-21 years old), the second group was middle aged women (35-39 years old) and the last group was elderly women (60-75 year old). The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1) Young women have 3 types. whereas, middle aged and elderly women have 4 types of upper bodies shapes. 2) The shape of the upper body is determined by the shape of the back and shape, size and placement of breast and the difference of the bust and waist size.
