摘要

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current situation and issues for early care and support of young visually special needs children and young visually impaired children at nursery school / preschool in Akita prefecture. The main findings were as follows: (1) The owner of the teacheru27s certificate of special support education was 1.0% in the 3,017 staff of nursery school / preschool. (2) The special-support-education coordinator was nominated 26.6% (among 177 nursery school / preschool). (3) Young visually special needs children in nursery school/preschool were 0.2% (among 17,015 young children). (4) 38 young visually impaired children had accepted at nursery school / preschool in the past three years. And 28 of 38 children were "strabismus", "low vision" and "ametropia" which need medical care. (5) At the assist content of young visually special needs children and young visually impaired children, there were much development support (29.4%) and childcare consultation (29.3%). (6) It was shown clearly that the issues in early support were "cooperation closely with agencies concerned", and "in-service stuff training on visual impairments", etc.
