摘要

The passive harmonic mode locking phenomenon in an erbium-doped fiber ring laser was investigated. The investigation was based on the study of passive harmonic mode locking of twin-pulse solitons. The study indicated that the continuous wave (CW) lasing operation played an important role in the global soliton interaction. The unstability of the CW mediated soliton interaction was responsible for the automatic arrangement of the relative positions and the formation of harmonically-locked solitonic states.
