In this paper, we propose an integrated schemeto identify an extended moving target while trying to correctlylocate its peak range-Doppler cell. The scheme is extended tohandle multiple target responses. The cognitive radar platformuses adaptive waveform based on the eigenwaveform. Two realtimeadaptive waveforms called maximum a posteriori probabilityweighted eigenwaveform (MAP-PWE) and match-filtered PWE(MF-PWE) are combined with range-Doppler map (RDM) techniqueto execute target type identification for moving extendedtargets. Joint RDM cell localization and target identificationperformance comparison between a traditional pulsed widebandwaveform, MAP-PWE, and MF-PWE techniques are shown. Itis noted the MF-PWE performs better than the wideband andMAP-PWE.
