Modeling solid-fuel ramjet combustion including radiation heat transfer to the fuel surface

Radiation heat transfer from soot in the flame zone to the fuel surface of asolid fuel ramjet was incorporated into an existing two-dimensional computercode. Improved prediction of the fuel regression pattern was obtained. Nearwalltemperature measurements indicated that the model predicts too much turbulentmixing near the fuel surface.
