The effect of work hardening on the fatigue properties of ferritic stainless steel at elevated temperature.

The purpose of this study was to determine, to what extent theimprovement in fatigue strength obtained by cold work is altered bycyclic stresses at elevated temperature. A series of fatigue tests were conducted using type 430 stainlesssteel in both the cold worked and the annealed conditions, at temperaturesabove and below the recrystallization temperature.
