A search of the literature disclosed the limited amount of test data in the field of combined stress fatigue. This is probably due to the difficulties in production and operation of a suitable combined Stress Fatigue Machine. There are in existence several theories of failure under combined stresses, but not enough data for intelligence design criteria.
