A simulator was constructed with two sets of aircraft controls;one set was movable and one set was rigid. The controloutput signals were integrated into an analog computer circuitto provide the desired aerodynamic characteristics. A repeatable, random input voltage to an oscilloscope was used as abasis for a tracking exercise in which the test subject, bymanipulation of the control stick, attempted to cancel therandom signal. A scoring method was devised which utilizedan electronic counter and signal comparator to evaluate pilotperformance with each of the four control sticks.
