A study of diabatic heating effects on the development of pressure waves

摘要

A baroclinic model programmed for numerical solution is used to investigatethe effects of diabatic heating on the development of pressurewaves for periods up to 24 hours. Several forms of the model are studiedwith results being obtained for various wavelengths. The results lead tosome meteorological improbabilities; however, the relative development ofthe pressure wave appears valid for short time periods.The writer wishes to express her appreciation to Professor GeorgeHaltiner of the U.
