The effects of mast height and centre of gravity onudre-righting have been investigated experimentally usingudfree and captive models. Free model motions wereudmeasured using six degree of freedom photogrammetry.udCaptive model forces were measured using a sixudcomponent force balance. The results have shown that audrelatively small increase in mast height has a muchudgreater effect than the increase in limit of positiveudstability used in the experiments. It would appear fromudthe results that the overriding factors influencing rerightingudin these experiments are the mast height and theudwave height and steepness.
