Gardening Australia:Substance and sustainability: The evolution of a national television phenomenon and gardening Celebrity

This thesis study explores the television phenomenon, Gardening Australia, hereafterudreferred to as GA. The project narrative and analysis follows two core strands, that isudthe emergence of gardening on Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC)udtelevision, from the program's early local beginnings, to the Tasmanian-baseduddevelopment of a sustainable national identity together with its widely acknowledgedudgarden celebrity and long-standing host, Peter Cundall.
