The paper presents a practical approach concerningthe design, implementation and testing of dry textile electrodesfor surface electromyography purposes. Several knittedstructures were designed and knitted with conductive yarns, inorder to compare the influence of the fabric structure in theelectrode performance. The effect of the type of conductive yarnwas also studied by comparing three different yarns. It was foundthat the textile electrodes perform well for sEMG acquisition, with a clear depiction of the muscle activity produced. There aresignificant differences between the structures tested and there isalso some influence from the yarn used.
