Recent years have seen a surge in radical protest, from Occupy Wall Street to IndianudNaxalites, from North African youth to Chilean teachers, and from Muslims in Xinjiangudto indigenous peoples in the Pacific. The uprisings in the Middle East and North Africaudduring 2011 provide the most potent articulation of these multiple sites of protest.
