Pengembangan Sistem Informasi Manajemen Absensi Siswa Berbasis SMS Di SMP Negeri 14 Surakarta (Research And Development)

The aim of this research is to describe the designing of management information system of students presence based on SMS and also to describe the aplication of management information system of students presence based on SMS at SMP N 14 Surakarta. Kind of research that used is research and develompment (R&D). the development model is descriptive procedural model. The research that is conducted in SMP N 14 Surakarta is a development of students presence based on SMS. The development procedure is done by product development, trial product and evaluation product. The subject of the research is 7th grade students. The technique of collecting data is carried out by observation method, interview and documentary. The result of this research is the management information system of SMP N 14 Surakarta students presence based on SMS. Having 5 menues inside, they are administration menu, master data menu, transaction menu, report menu and utility menu. On the transaction process using manual system, it is carried out in three places. Fisrt, it is done in the class by writing the students presence in the class journal book, secondly it is done by conselor who recapitulate the students presence on the conselor journal book and the last, it is done by in charge teacher, who writes the students presence by coming class by class and recapitulate them on the journal book. Meanwhile if we use this application program of student presence, it is only conducted once and all data are save in the database. The report for parents is given in form of printed out and SMS. So, parents can know their children presence easly and the communication between school and parents can run well.
