Saadillah M.Pd.udKeyword: subject verb agreement, error, students’ errorudIn Learning language, making mistake is normal among learner, because mistakes are needed in order to give better feedback for better improvement in learning process. One of problem arises in learning certain language is on grammar. Subject verb agreement is one of basic rules in English and learners still producing errors in producing it. From the errors, the mastery of the language system can be identified. There are three problems to be solved , namely, (1) Are there any errors in the use of subject verb agreement by sixth semester of English Department of IAIN Banjarmasin? (2) The type of subject verb agreement errors that made by the students. And (3) The dominant errorudIn this research, the writer uses descriptive qualitative because it will describe and explain the data from the subject. The research meant to describe and explain subjects’ subject verb agreement errors and their mastery on the rules.udThe research reveals that all types of subject verb agreement error. To do that, the researcher categorized and grouped the type of subject verb agreement. The researcher makes test based on the each type as the research instrument. The result, two dominant errors are found and error is found in each type of subject verb agreement.udThe writer suggests that the student should study more on subject-verb agreement, and the writer suggests that the teacher should give more attention to students’ grammar especially on subject-verb agreement. The writer should realize that he should pay more attention to his works in order to minimize errors and unnecessary mistakes, and the writer suggests the next researcher conduct a research on larger circumstance of English grammar.
