Multi-purpose Use of Rural Road : A Case Study of West Kanbara District in Niigata Pref.

摘要

The u22activationu22 in rural society is exclaimed recently because of the agricultural crisis brought by both the interior and the exterior of this country. So, the rural roads as fundamental facilities are planned by the authorities to make rural society and districts active. This paper is a case study executed at the west Kanbara in Niigata Prefecture as a rural district which mainly produces rice to find a possible method at the planning. The possibility is found to increase the number of sea-bathing tourists from the analysis of sight-seeing tourist statistics by the prefectural government. The potentiality is estimated through the relation between the tourists from outside and inside of the prefecture to get 2.5 million tourist increase available in this district. So, in case of this district the rural planning is recommended to tie up with a sight-seeing development.
