Studies on the Specialized Farming (Truck Farming). IV. Reseaches on the Strawberry Production and Farm Economic Consideration on the Development of its Chief Producing Areas in the Kanto Districts. This paper gave a result of survey tried as one of the studies concerning the specialized farming for the strawberry production in the Kanto districts. This study was conducted from the point of view of forming the chief strawberry producing areas. The strawberry production in the Kanto districts started at the beginning of Showa, but other newly rising producing areas started in about 1957. Especially Saitama and Tochigi prefecture made a great progress. The producing areas occupy the paddy zone on the basin of rivers. The motive of the strawberry production is concerned in managerial and social factors. The type of farming in the chief producing areas belongs almost to the type of diversified farming of rice culture in addition to strawberry culture and the paddy field was utilized. There were many types of strawberry cultivation and in each producing area difference of the combination pattern of the cultivation type was observed. But these combinations were not fixed. In the northern districts of Kanto, the forming step in the chief producing areas is in process of enlargement of planted area. At the same time, it is in process of richness in contents. Kanagawa prefecture is in the process of richness in contents. For the formation of the chief strawberry producing areas, it is necessary to dissolve many kinds of personal differences among farms, to plan the enlargement of producing scale, to have independency for producing farms and to rear main farmers. For the maintaining of the strawberry producing areas, it is necessary to establish the leading system of the concerning agencies.
