In the Community Mothers Programme, parents of youngudchildren are visited in their own homes by CommunityudMothers or Family Development Nurses. These visits offerudstructured support and guidance on all aspects of parenting promotingudhealth in its widest sense. The visits focus uponudmaternal health and self-esteem and promote good nutrition.udThe parents are encouraged to stimulate the social, languageudand cognitive development of their children.udAs part of the Community Mothers Programme, experiencedudCommunity Mothers train and work as breastfeedingudsupporters for new mothers.
