This is the fourth report to the Minister for Health & Children by the Irish Medicines Boardud(1MB) in relation to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS). This organisation wasudpreviously known as The Blood Transfusion Service Board (BTSB). This report has beenudproduced in response to the recommendations of the Finlay Tribunal. It is based onudinspections of the IBTS's production facilities in Cork and Dublin and on informationudprovided at joint meetings.udThe IBTS is undergoing a period of major change with new processes and new facilities being developed which are welcomed. This report, however, focuses on ongoing activities duringud2000 and monitors their conformity with current standards of Good Manufacturing Practiceud(GMP).
