HSE Intern implementation group interim report on the implementation of recommendations of the National Committee report on the Intern year Phase 1: May 2009 – July 2010

The National Committee on Medical Education and Training adopted the report of its Sub-udCommittee on the Intern Year in July 2008 (“NCMET Report”)1. The report was subsequentlyudnoted by the Interdepartmental Policy Steering Group on Medical Education and Training.udIn May 2009, the Health Service Executive (“HSE”) established an Intern ImplementationudGroup, incorporating membership from the wide range of stakeholders involved in the internudyear, including the Medical Council, Medical Schools, Postgraduate Medical Training Bodies,udhospital services, primary care services and the HSE’s Medical Education and Training, HRudand Finance functions.
