Throughout 2002 matters of finance occupied audconsiderable amount of Board and Management time.udGovernment under·funding of our budgetedudrequirements put our resources, both human andudphysical under enormous strain. However, theudconsiderable skills of Chief Executive, Maura Nash andudher management team, together with the generous andudwholehearted response of every member of staff,udsucceeded in delivering acceptable levels of service toudour clients throughout the year. COPE Foundation cannotudsustain this pressure without some element of itsudservices or standards suffering, and such outcomes areudnot acceptable to us.udOn behalf of the Board and myself, I would like toudexpress sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyudmember of staff throughout COPE Foundation for theiruddedication and professionalism in these hard times.udElsewhere in this report you will see the statement ofud"Vision, Mission and Goals" adopted by the Board inud2002. This statement was produced after lengthy self·udanalysis in all sectors of COPE Foundation and withudcontributions from all relevant parties. We now have audproper focus on the full range of our activities and ourudadvocacy on behalf of our clients into the future. Takenudtogether with our strategic plan we have a platform onudwhich to make our case to Government and this we haveuddone in the course of several meetings with SouthernudHealth Board senior management.
