Thermal conductivity measurements in various well-known Yb3+ and Nd3+ doped laser materials are performed by using an all-optical pump-probe approach based on the pump-induced thermal lens phenomenon. The derived values agree well with the existing data and open the way to more extensive and more complete investigations.
