高齢者の受療空間を構成する医療施設の状況 : 泉北ニュータウンを例として

The living needs of the elderly mainly require access to shopping space and to medical care. Specifically, the elderly wish to have an adequate number of clinics in their neighborhood This paper examines the state of facilities in medical care space for the elderly person. The main findings are summarized as follows; 1. The number of medical facilities per capita at Senboku New Town is less than that of other ordinance-designated cities. 2. Moreover, there are fewer clinics in Senboku New Town than in the other areas of Sakai City. 3. The independent clinic groups that compose "Doctor Village" are concentrated in a central location near major bus stops, providing the elderly with the convenience of being able to receive a variety of medical treatment and to do their shopping in one trip. Because it conforms to the rapid growth of the elderly population, effective use of this medical hub may promote further development in the region.. The most important thing for the elderly is that the relative distance from home to clinics be relatively short. 4. Senior citizens contribute a full half to the national medical expenditure. The average age is increasing; consequently the enhancement of medical care space for the elderly person is important.
