Smart city as a mobile technology: critical perspectives on urban development policies

This chapter aims at providing a critical reflection on the relation between smart city and neoliberal urban governance. It argues that, in the current economic scenario characterized by crisis and austerity, the smart city policy represents an attempt to attract and co-opt private actors in the provision of urban services.
