The coastal engineering effects of Tropical Cyclone Chloe, Port Headland, Western Australia February 1984

A review of the effects of tropical cyclone Chloe off Port Hedland inFebruary 1984 is presented. Data on waves and storm surge has beencollected and successful methods developed for analysis. Of interest isthe investigation into the recovery of wave parameters from relatively deepsub-surface pressure recorders. Comparisons with predictive formulae forwaves and computer models of storm surge has been undertaken.
