Improving clinician access to prescribing scheduled medicines - what the evidence shows

Prescription of scheduled medicines represents an extended scope of practice for podiatrists and was approved by the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council in 2010. To date only 74 (1.6%) of Australia's 4,655 podiatrists haveudgained endorsement1. This paper explores barriers and enablers to gaining qualifications to prescribe.
