Internationalisation in Higher Education, Journalism, and Preparation for Work in the New World Economy: a case study approach based on Australian and European experience, suggesting ways that journalism schools worldwide might respond to internationalising work being done by universities.

Changes generated by economic globalisation and new technologies have created an information-based world. Types of knowledge needed for journalism have changed while universities have become more internationalised. This article proposes journalism education should exploit now easily accessible international university services. To show how such an approach may be enacted it explains trends in European education, and the "study abroad" model of short-term studies. Journalism schools in Australia, the Netherlands and Norway provide a case study.
